Saskatoon Police Shoot Man During Mental Health Standoff

Saskatoon police shot a 25-year-old man during a 10-hour standoff on December 19, following a mental health call at a Sutherland trailer park. The man is currently in stable condition at a hospital. The incident involved police negotiations that ended when the man partially exited the residence, prompting police to discharge their weapons. The province’s Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating the incident, which included the recovery of several knives at the scene.
