Police officer charged with forging statements during investigation of criminal cases

SINGAPORE: Police officer S Vikneshvaran Subramaniam, 35, was charged with nine counts of forgery related to police statements and documents for cases investigated between 2021 and 2023. The Singapore Police Force discovered the forgeries during a supervisory check after placing him under “enhanced supervision” due to performance issues. Following remedial actions, including reassignment of investigation officers, it was found that no miscarriage of justice occurred, and Vikneshvaran, who has been suspended, indicated he would plead guilty, with the case adjourned to June 18.
