Planned Parenthood North Central States announced the closure of four clinics in Iowa and four in Minnesota within a year due to federal fund freezes, proposed budget cuts, and state abortion restrictions. The closures include Iowa’s only abortion-providing facility in Ames and the Richfield clinic in Minnesota, resulting in 66 layoffs and 37 employees being reassigned. Following these changes, the affiliate will operate 10 clinics in Minnesota, two in Iowa, two in Nebraska, and one in South Dakota, amid ongoing challenges in the healthcare landscape.
