Two Philadelphia men, Anthony Waddell Jefferson and Lester Brown, pleaded guilty to wire fraud for defrauding Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Services, which supports individuals with disabilities and addiction. Despite having no local ties, they registered companies in Minnesota and falsely marketed themselves as “The Housing Guys,” submitting inflated claims totaling approximately $3.57 million. They fabricated documentation and used AI-generated messages to support their fraudulent activities. Sentencing has yet to be scheduled as federal investigations into widespread fraud in Minnesota continue.
