New Zealand’s Matt Payne secured pole position for the first Taupo 440 race in the Supercars series, setting a new qualifying record with a lap time of 1:25.700. However, he will start the second race in seventh after Brodie Kostecki claimed pole for that sprint. Other notable drivers in the top positions include Cam Waters, Ryan Wood, Chaz Mostert, and Will Davison, with the first race scheduled to start at 10:50 am (AEST) followed by the second at 2:05 pm.
