Patient stabbed by roommate in CHUM hospital room, Montreal police say

A 53-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body by a 35-year-old man in their shared hospital room at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. The motive for the attack remains unknown, but hospital staff intervened to restrain the suspect armed with a sharp object. The victim, initially in serious condition, was later deemed to be out of danger, with police sealing off the room for investigation.
