Robert Easom, 57, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for violently attacking his girlfriend, Trudi Burgess, leaving her paralyzed. The assault followed eight years of controlling and abusive behavior, culminating in a brutal incident after Burgess announced her intention to leave.
