US President Donald Trump overseeing ‘troubling deterioration’ in press freedom in US, Reporters Without Borders says.

According to Reporters Without Borders’ World Press Freedom Index 2025, Palestine has become the world’s most dangerous place for journalists, with nearly 200 fatalities linked to the ongoing war in Gaza and significant harassment in the West Bank. The U.S. dropped to a record low of 57, with accusations against Trump for exacerbating press freedom issues, while Israel fell to 112th due to increased media restrictions. Norway ranked first for press freedom, while Eritrea remained the lowest, just above North Korea and China.
