Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says both fighters who carried out suicide attacks on Islamabad and South Waziristan were Afghan nationals.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed in parliament that the suicide bombers from recent attacks in Islamabad and South Waziristan were Afghan nationals, while authorities made several arrests related to these incidents. The Islamabad attack on Wednesday killed at least 12 people and injured over 30, while another assault targeted a college in South Waziristan. Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated, with Pakistan considering military strikes inside Afghanistan following these attacks. In a separate development, Pakistan’s parliament passed a constitutional amendment granting lifetime immunity to the army chief, strengthening military power amid criticism.
