Farmers’ ‘extraordinary generosity’ boosted by price jump in Daffodil Day lamb sale

Friday’s Daffodil Day sale at Matawhero Livestock Centre successfully raised $70,000 for the Cancer Society, with lamb prices reaching up to $300 each. Jamie Hayward, PGG Wrightson’s regional livestock manager, noted the sale of 370 lambs donated by local farmers, including an anonymous donor who contributed 50 lambs specifically for the cause.
