Gore Hospital Suspends New Admissions and Visitors Due to Covid-19

A Covid-19 outbreak has been confirmed at Gore Hospital, leading to restrictions on admissions and visitor access. Testing revealed six patients and three nursing staff were Covid-positive, prompting the hospital to stop accepting new patients. Gore Health chief executive Karl Metzler stated that the facility is implementing standard infection prevention and control measures. The hospital operates independently of Te Whatu Ora as a community-owned facility.
