Call to review ‘cancel culture’ in universities after ‘ostracised’ Oxford student takes own life

A coroner has linked the suicide of Oxford student Alexander Rogers to being ostracised by peers following a sexual encounter, leading him to take his own life. His body was found in the River Thames after expressing remorse for his actions and feeling isolated. The family described his death as a tragedy caused by a “cancel culture” environment at the university, where students felt pressured to conform to unwritten moral standards.
