Ottawa's pledge to reduce immigration is not enough, PQ says

Pascal Bérubé of the Parti Québécois criticized Ottawa’s plan to reduce the number of new permanent residents, calling it insufficient. The federal government announced a decrease in immigration targets, with 395,000 new permanent residents in 2025, down from the initial goal of 500,000. The targets will continue to decrease to 380,000 in 2026 and 365,000 in 2027.
