An Ottawa man, a former Language and Cultural Advisor for the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan, is urgently seeking help from Prime Minister Mark Carney and Immigration Minister Lena Diab to save his sister and nephew from imminent Taliban reprisals following his service. Despite his repeated pleas, his family is facing deportation from Turkey back to Afghanistan, where they fear for their lives, as Canada’s special immigration policy excludes them due to their prior departure from Afghanistan.
