A security vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange servers, known as ProxyLogon, remains largely unpatched despite a fix being issued four years ago. This flaw may have been exploited by the hacking group Salt Typhoon, with 91% of affected instances still unpatched. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has advised strengthening visibility, hardening systems, and keeping software up to date to prevent potential cyberattacks.
