British teenager Oliver Bearman is optimistic about the possibility of driving for Haas in Formula 1 next season after his impressive debut as a stand-in for Ferrari at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The 18-year-old, who secured pole position in Formula 2, filled in for Carlos Sainz at the last minute due to appendicitis. Bearman narrowly missed out on Q3 and finished seventh in the race, showcasing his potential for a permanent seat in 2025.

Bearman expressed uncertainty about his future in F1 but remains focused on performing well in F2. He has a close relationship with Haas and hopes a door will open for him in 2025. While his ultimate goal is to drive for Ferrari, he understands that it may not happen in the near future due to existing contracts with Hamilton and Leclerc.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur praised Bearman’s performance in Saudi Arabia but emphasized the importance of focusing on F2. Bearman will continue as Ferrari’s reserve driver for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix, with Sainz expected to return to driving duties. Despite the uncertainty, Bearman remains hopeful and supportive of his teammate’s recovery.
