Tremane Wood, an Oklahoma death row inmate, was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in his cell on the same day he was granted clemency by Governor Kevin Stitt, just hours before his scheduled execution. Wood, 46, was moved to a new cell following his clemency meeting and later experienced a medical event attributed to dehydration and stress. He reported rolling off his bunk and waking up injured in the infirmary, having not eaten or drunk anything since the previous evening. Wood was sentenced to death for his involvement in a 2001 murder, a conviction he contested, claiming his brother was the actual perpetrator.
