Spending Watchdog Backs Up Labour's Claim Tories Left A Black Hole In Public Finances

Rachel Reeves, along with her ministerial team, revealed that the Office for Budget Responsibility confirmed Labour’s claim of a £22 billion “black hole” in government finances left by the previous Conservative government. The OBR stated that the Tories had not disclosed £9.5 billion of net pressures on department budgets for 2024-5, leading to inaccurate spending plans.
