Washington — Former President Barack Obama surprised a group of 79 veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars during their Honor Flight arrival in Washington on Veterans Day weekend. Greeting the veterans and expressing gratitude, he shook hands and presented them with Presidential Challenge Coins. The Honor Flight Networks, which has served over 317,000 veterans in 20 years, aims to honor their service by providing free trips to memorials in the capital. Many veterans, including Army veteran Joe Parr, expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and support they received.
