A Chicago-based subcontractor is suing Thornton Tomasetti, the firm managing the construction of the Obama Presidential Center, for $40 million, claiming racial discrimination led to extra work and financial risk. The subcontractor, II in One, alleges that Thornton Tomasetti’s changed standards and inspections caused overruns and losses. The center, set to open in 2026, will house the Obama Foundation and include a museum, library, and community facilities.
