The New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZVA) is collaborating with the Ministry for Primary Industries and Animal and Plant Health New Zealand to enhance access to veterinary medicines, following the release of the Agricultural and Horticultural Products Regulatory Review. The review identified inefficiencies in the approval process and made 16 recommendations to improve efficiency and transparency, all of which were accepted by Cabinet. NZVA emphasizes the importance of increasing access to veterinary products for better patient outcomes and animal welfare, while APHANZ looks forward to seeing rapid progress in implementing the report’s recommendations to boost the primary sector economy.
