NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers has signed a newbuilding deal with DSIC in China to construct a 33,000 dwt deck carrier specifically designed for transporting large modular equipment. This marks the first shipbuilding cooperation between DSIC and NYK, with the new carrier set to join the fleet in 2027 and fly the Panama flag. The deck carrier, developed by CSSC’s Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute, will enhance NYK’s specialized cargo carrying capabilities alongside their existing fleet of deck carriers.
