A 27-year-old teacher at International High School at Lafayette in Brooklyn was arrested for putting a 15-year-old student in a headlock after the student entered his classroom without permission, resulting in the student being sent to a nearby hospital. The teacher, Gary Zeng, was charged with second-degree strangulation, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree assault. The victim is in stable condition with neck injuries, and the city Department of Education has not yet commented on the incident.
