NYC Sues Social Media Companies Over Child Addiction Claims

New York City has filed a federal lawsuit against major social media platforms, including Facebook, Google, Snapchat, and TikTok, accusing them of contributing to a mental health crisis among children by creating addictive environments. The 327-page complaint, part of over 2,000 similar lawsuits nationwide, claims the platforms exploit youth psychology, leading to increased screen time and public safety issues, including fatal subway surfing incidents.
