The National Women’s Soccer League will establish a $5m fund to compensate players who have been abused by coaches and officials, following allegations dating back over a decade. An independent investigation led by Sally Yates and King & Spalding LLP revealed systemic verbal, emotional, and sexual misconduct within the NWSL. The league has agreed with the attorneys general of Illinois, New York, and Washington DC to create the restitution fund and implement policy changes to address player safety and prevent further abuse.
