UN report reveals shocking number of medals female athletes lost to transgender opponents

A UN report titled “Violence against women and girls in sports” reveals that female athletes have lost nearly 900 medals to transgender competitors, with over 600 female athletes being bested by biologically male competitors in 29 different sports. The report highlights the impact of replacing female sports categories with mixed-sex categories, leading to female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males. UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem presented the report to the UN General Assembly, shedding light on the concerning trend in sports.
