The area is cluttered with couches, mattresses, food waste, and broken glass, prompting the Dunedin City Council to label the situation as the worst seen in recent years. The Council expressed disappointment over the state of the streets and announced that their illegal dumping collection team and street sweepers would focus on cleaning the area in the coming days.
