Triple knife killer Valdo Calocane, who has paranoid schizophrenia, was not prescribed long-lasting antipsychotics due to his aversion to needles, as revealed in a damning report highlighting failures in his care. The report also exposed 15 other cases of patients under the same mental health trust committing serious acts of violence, including one individual stabbing five people in a weekend. Calocane’s violent behavior, which included holding flatmates “hostage” and attacking a police officer, ultimately led to the murders of two students and a caretaker in Nottingham in June 2023, resulting in his conviction for manslaughter and attempted murder.
