The families of the Nottingham attack victims are holding doctors responsible for failing to appropriately treat triple killer Valdo Calocane, demanding accountability from the mental health trust and individual clinicians. Calocane, diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, was released despite being deemed a “ticking timebomb” and subsequently killed three people in a series of attacks in June 2023. An independent report revealed that Calocane refused long-lasting anti-psychotic medication, and the families are calling for action against doctors who did not adjust his treatment despite his known violent tendencies and history of non-compliance.
