In preparation for the grand reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris after a massive fire and five-year reconstruction effort, three new bells, including one used at the Paris Olympic Games, have been delivered and will be installed above the altar. Crafted by the renowned Cornille Havard foundry, the bells bear symbolic marks and were consecrated in a solemn ceremony by the cathedral’s rector. The new bells join historic ones that were recently reinstalled, marking a significant milestone in the restoration of the iconic 861-year-old cathedral.
