North Korea has commenced an investigation into the failed launch of a new warship, which ended up on its side and taking on water, causing dismay for leader Kim Jong Un. The destroyer, launched on Wednesday, sustained damage due to a loss of balance, with satellite imagery revealing it covered in blue tarpaulin at a Chongjin shipyard. Kim condemned the incident as a “criminal act,” prompting authorities to detain shipyard manager Hong Kil Ho as they seek to determine the cause and those responsible for the mishap.
