In the final stage of the Tour Down Under, debutant Noemi Ruegg successfully defended her overall lead with the support of team captain Sarah Roy, while American cycling great Chloe Dygert claimed the stage win with a powerful burst of speed. Ruegg finished third in the stage behind Dutch rider Silke Smulders, her main rival for the overall lead, ultimately winning the title by 13 seconds.
