In their final group stage match, Nigeria defeated Uganda 3-1, securing a perfect record in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Uganda’s goalkeeper Salim Magoola was sent off just 11 minutes after coming on for the injured Denis Onyango, forcing Uganda to use all three goalkeepers. Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu opened the scoring, followed by two goals from Raphael Onyedika, while Uganda managed a consolation through Rogers Mato. Nigeria will advance to face a third-placed team from Group F, while Uganda exits the tournament with a six-match winless streak.
