A German Shepherd breeder, Janine Wallace, has faced a nearly decade-long ban from dog ownership due to animal neglect alongside her mother. Despite her attempts to overturn the prohibition and quash her convictions through multiple appeals, the court has determined that the original sentence must remain. Wallace operated Volkerson Kennels in Pōkeno, where she bred and sold German Shepherds, some priced up to $5000. The court has stated that further litigation on this matter must cease.
