New Zealand voted in favor of a UN resolution supporting the International Court of Justice’s determination that Israel’s occupation in Palestine is illegal. To have a meaningful impact, New Zealand must now enforce the resolution by prohibiting imports from companies operating in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as outlined in the resolution’s guidelines. The resolution urges states to take steps to cease importation from these areas in order to comply with the ruling.
