New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed two new bills into law aimed at protecting children from the dangers of social media. The first bill requires social media companies to obtain parental consent before collecting data on children under the age of 13. The second bill prohibits companies from using the information collected on children for targeted advertising purposes.
