Another dangerous storm is approaching the Philippines, following recent deadly flash floods and landslides in Luzon island, with Typhoon Usagi displacing thousands and causing widespread devastation. The storm weakened as it moved towards Taiwan, leaving destruction in its wake, while the United Nations requested $32.9m in aid for the affected regions. The country faces further threats as Tropical Storm Man-yi is forecast to hit coastal areas, potentially impacting the capital, Manila, and exacerbating the already significant damage to homes, farmland, and infrastructure.
