CONCORD, N.H. (AP)

An attorney involved in the 9/11 victims’ compensation fund claims New Hampshire lawmakers compromised the fairness of a settlement program for youth detention center abuse victims by allowing political appointees to control key decisions. Over 1,300 individuals have filed claims since 2020, with concerns about conflicts of interest and the potential for the attorney general to veto settlements.
