Netflix has introduced a new subtitles option aimed at viewers who don’t have hearing disabilities, as about half of American households watch content with subtitles. This format focuses solely on spoken dialogue, omitting extra information like sound effects and music cues that are typically included in traditional closed captions, which are still available. The new subtitles feature will first be available in Netflix original programming, starting with the new season of “You,” with plans to expand to older titles in the future.
