A prolonged and costly dispute between neighbours Christel Naish, 81, and Dr. Jyotibala Patel over a garden tap and pipe has amassed £250,000 in legal fees over seven years. Naish claimed the fixtures trespassed on her property, leading to a ruling in Patel’s favour at the county court, which left Naish with significant legal costs, including £100,000 for Patel’s fees. Despite the judge deeming the litigation ‘ridiculous’, Naish is appealing in the High Court, risking further expenses that could exceed £500,000.
