A small plane crashed into a Nebraska river on Friday, resulting in the deaths of all three occupants, identified as Daniel Williams, Jeff Bittinger, and Randy Amrein.
The aircraft went down around 8:15 p.m. while flying along the Platte River near Fremont, though its origin remains unknown.
Local residents aided authorities in recovery efforts, and the investigation has been handed over to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.
