Andrew Wolfe recovering after D.C. shooting, says West Virginia governor

Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe is recovering from a head wound sustained in a shooting incident in Washington, D.C., where he and Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom were ambushed; Beckstrom later died from her injuries. Wolfe’s family reports that he is slowly healing and expected to remain in acute care for two to three weeks. The shooter, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, has been charged with murder and other offenses. Wolfe, a member of the West Virginia National Guard since 2019, is showing signs of recovery, including responding positively to medical staff.
