The National Archives released an unredacted version of Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s military records to an ally of her GOP opponent, Jack Ciattarelli, raising potential legal concerns under the Privacy Act of 1974 and Freedom of Information Act exemptions. Sherrill, who was not involved in a Naval Academy cheating scandal, condemned the release as a political weaponization of her records.
