Myanmar quake rescue bids wind down as death toll rises

Rescue efforts to find survivors from Myanmar’s March 28 earthquake are winding down as relief and recovery activities increase, with the death toll reaching 3600. International rescuers have returned home, and the number of teams in Naypyitaw is decreasing. The earthquake, now officially named “the Big Mandalay Earthquake,” has caused significant damage across six regions, with the military government and armed opponents accusing each other of ceasefire violations amidst ongoing turmoil in the country.
