Bangkok declares ‘disaster zone’, workers trapped under collapsed building after Myanmar earthquake

Bangkok authorities declared the Thai capital a “disaster area” following a powerful earthquake in Myanmar that caused buildings to sway and a skyscraper under construction to collapse. 83 construction workers were trapped inside the collapsed building, with three confirmed deaths and some rescued. Myanmar has declared a state of emergency, with reports of several deaths and fears that hundreds may be dead.
