UN accuses Myanmar of genocide against Rohingya minority
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Myanmar is accused of committing genocide against the Rohingya minority in a case at the ICJ, filed by The Gambia in 2019. The trial, the first genocide case in over a decade, could set a precedent for future allegations. Over 700,000 Rohingya refugees fled to Bangladesh due to alleged mass atrocities by Myanmar’s military. A finding of genocide could impact an ongoing investigation at the International Criminal Court.
