A woman in her 40s was found seriously injured at Hatfield Close in Lewisham, southeast London, early this morning, prompting an emergency response from the London Ambulance Service. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 44-year-old man later arrived at a nearby police station and was arrested on suspicion of murder, remaining in custody. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed, but it is believed that she and the suspect were known to each other, and a post-mortem examination has been ordered as the investigation continues.
