Mum, 21, found dead after inhaling laughing gas with a chest infection

Kira Booth, a 21-year-old mother, was found dead in her flat by her support worker in November 2024, following an inquest at Preston Coroner’s Court. The investigation revealed she had consumed nitrous oxide while suffering from a chest infection, and various nitrous oxide containers and drug paraphernalia were discovered at the scene; however, there was no evidence of third-party involvement or intent to take her own life. Coroner Kate Bissett concluded that Kira’s death was a misadventure, highlighting her struggles with mental health and her caring nature.
