The stolen $400,000 Wayne Gretzky jersey was taken from the home of Kent Nilsson, Gretzky’s close friend and former NHL star. The jersey was part of a collection started by Nilsson’s mother, who gathered jerseys from every team he played on, including the Edmonton Oilers where he played alongside Gretzky. The jersey exchange took place after the 1984 Canada Cup tournament, where Team Canada beat Team Sweden in the final.
