Mother Charged in Baby Daughter’s Death

Nazli Merthoca, 24, was found guilty of manslaughter for the death of her three-month-old daughter, Kaylani Kalanzi, who suffered traumatic brain injuries from being shaken. Kaylani died at Great Ormond Street Hospital on July 23, 2024, after Merthoca’s initial false claims to emergency services; her sentencing is set for December 15.
